Tickets
The purchase of a ticket entitles the bearer access to the performance named at the stated time and date.
It is your responsibility to check your tickets as we are under no obligation to rectify mistakes after purchase of tickets. We are not obliged to replace lost or stolen tickets.
How do I book a ticket online?
AMC Cinemas does offer online ticketing, for more information please refer to our Terms and Conditions for online ticketing.
I don’t get the option of seat selection when I try to book.
AMC in the UK does not operate reserved seating.
Can I book via other means than online (e.g..via telephone)?
AMC realise that it’s not always convenient to book online. We are developing a range of methods of booking, so you can quickly and easily book your cinema tickets. Currently you can use the following:
- In person at our box office (during normal box office hours)
- Over the phone. Please dial 01618173000
What payment methods do you accept?
Tickets can be purchased in the UK using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro/Switch (UK Banks only), Solo, Visa Electron. Unfortunately we are unable to accept JCB, Style or Duet.
Unfortunately you are unable to redeem:
- gift certificates or vouchers to purchase tickets online
- AMC guest passes to purchase tickets online
- Orange Wednesday online
Once I have booked tickets, how do I collect them?
You can collect your tickets from the box office or from the automatic ticket machines. You must remember to bring the card used during the booking process as this will be required to locate and issue your booking.
Please ensure that you arrive well in advance of your performance in order to pick up your tickets. If you arrive after the performance has started, admission may be refused to avoid disruption to guests already seated in the cinema.
If your booking contains a student ticket, you will need to show your student ID at the box office or ticket gate.
I’ve made a mistake with my booking – what should I do?

Can I add extra seats to an existing booking?

I want to book a ticket for a date which isn’t displayed.
Unfortunately we sometimes have to wait until the film distribution companies fully confirm details about a film before we can put tickets on sale. As soon as we know the film and times they will be displayed on the website – usually this results in the tickets for the next week appearing on the website on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.
Some films releases go on sale a few weeks before their release date after agreement with the film distributors.
At what age does someone have to pay the adult ticket price?
All guests aged 15 years and over will be charged the adult ticket price. However we offer a student discount to guests in full time education if they hold a valid form of ID such as NUS, NUS Associate, or ISIC (which must be presented at the box office to get the discount).
What does each ticket mean?
Babes-In-Arms
Babes-in-arms under 2 are admitted free of charge to PG and U films only, this ticket category is not available online, please visit the AMC box office.
AM Cinema
Discount prices at selected AMC Cinemas on all movies screened before Midday.
Late Shows
Friday and Saturday night screenings starting after 11.00pm, over 16's admitted only for all shows.
Child
Available for those from 2 to 14 year
Adult
Available for those aged 15 years and older
Senior
Available for those aged 55 years and older
Student
Available to those in full time education.
- School students 14yrs -16yrs
- 16yrs and over you must hold a valid form of ID such as NUS, NUS Associate, or ISIC.
- Please show your ID to the cashier before your purchase to receive the discount.
- Tickets purchased at our automatic machines are checked at our ticket gate.
- AMC Great Northern 16 also accept Salford University ID.
Armed and Emergency Services
Available to those working within any of the armed services and emergency services if holding valid ID. This ticket category is not available online, please visit the AMC box office.
References to adult above do not have the same meaning as adult for the purposes of the mandatory conditions on the exhibitions of films relating to the protection of children from harm as contained in the Licensing Act 2003.
If I am running late for the film will my seat be held?
At AMC you book a ticket not a seat as we do not operate a reserved seating. AMC does not guarantee your seat or group of seats and therefore we strongly recommend that you arrive at least 30 minutes before you performance starts. AMC will not refund your tickets in the event that you are late in arriving and your group cannot sit together or the available seats are not to your liking. Please note, payment is received irrespective of whether the tickets are collected or not.
When can I use my voucher for free tickets?
We have a large number of different vouchers available, each has different terms and conditions, please check your voucher carefully for validity. Please note, vouchers and coupons cannot be used for online ticket purchases.
Please note, that film distributors often place restrictions on the first three weeks of release on specific films – this is referred to as ‘Free List Suspended’ period. Please refer to your validity and terms and conditions on your passes or voucher as not all are accepted during these periods.
Can you resell tickets?
You must not resell or offer for resale any tickets (whether at a premium or otherwise) or use tickets for advertising or promotions or for any other trade purposes. If you resell or offer for resale any tickets, then they will be invalid.
Changes to Performances movie
We will always try to ensure that performances take place in accordance with the advertised programme. However, we reserve the right to cancel a performance, vary the time of an exhibition or substitute an alternative film if this becomes necessary because of circumstances beyond our control. If this happens we will, at our discretion, refund the cost of the ticket or issue another ticket for the same film on an alternative occasion.

Please ensure that mobile phones and pagers are set not to ring during performances.
Guide and hearing dogs are welcome but other animals are not permitted on the premises.
We reserve the right to delay or refuse the admittance of latecomers.
Is AMC part of Orange Wednesday?
AMC does take part in Orange Wednesday. Please note under the terms and conditions of the Orange Wednesday ticket offer, tickets are not available in advance or through our online and telephone service.
The purchase of Orange tickets is limited to the use of one per person per day on receipt of validated number as issued by Orange. A standard priced ticket must be purchased at the same time as your free Orange ticket. A premium may be charged by selected cinemas for your 3D ticket.
